I know there’s a bunch of folks that will check back here from time to time, and so you need to be aware of a pretty significant change t this blog, coming up this week.
We’re moving it.
In the past this blog has been kept independent of the CPG Systems company website. The idea has been to promote good IT thinking on the part of businesses. If a blog is clearly associated with an IT company, you know they’re going to be biased, right? This is what we were trying to avoid. SEO has changed this, and here’s why.
During my discussions with Mark at Top Local Rankings, one of the common underlying themes has been ‘content is king’. There’s a pretty wide range of terms that this blog ranks well for in Google and Bing. The company site, on the other hand, doesn’t do as well as the blog. So a decision was made to move the blog so that it’s part of the CPG Systems corporate website. This way, all the content will be associated with the company, as well as the blog on its own.
Hopefully, this will help us to boost the page rankings a bit (or a lot!). One of the points that holds back some page rankings is a lack of content, I’m told. With more pages on the corporate site (through adding the blog), the search engines will have more words and phrases that can be directly associated with CPG Systems.
So this will be the last post here. Future posts will be found at the new location, which is here. Thanks for stopping by, and we hope to see you again at our new home
